Recommendations

The Appalachian Parkway is a beautiful ride for a rig this size, but there are no parks on the parkway itself, and service centers are few and far between. Guadalupe River State Park is a beautiful oasis in central Texas. Yosemite is an amazing adventure, but the roads in and out of the park are tenuous, lengthy and arduous on both riders and the rig. Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, the Mormon villages at Moose and the Granite Hot Springs in Wyoming are absolutely a-mazing. Other incredible drives include the Pacific Coast Highway in California from Monterey to Hurst Castle; the waterfall trail along the Veterans Highway east of Portland, Oregon; Redwoods National Park in California; Beartooth Mountain Scenic By-way in southern Montana; Sawtooth Parkway in southern Idaho; Columbia River Gorge in Washington State; Shenandoah Parkway in eastern Virginia; Ricketts Glen in NW Pennsylvania; Watkins Glen and Letchworth States Park in central New York State; St. Georges island in the Florida panhandle; Jekyll Island State Park in SE Georgia. All of these are outstanding, but you'll have to find these treasures for yourself.

Other things to note

The clearance for this rig is 14 feet. Hairpin curves and switchbacks are unforgiving for motorhomes - do not take those roads. Stick to US highways and interstates for most travel. Scenic byways are usually 4-lane, safe, and wide enough for Class A motorhomes.

The onboard generator will stop running when the fuel tank is at or below 1/4 full. If the generator stops, check the dashboard gas gauge. This is a safety feature to make sure you have enough fuel to make it to a service center the next morning.

Do not run the generator with the rig in motion. ALWAYS turn off the gas when the vehicle is in motion and certainly when traveling - use the microwave for cooking at these times. The inverter will provide AC power to the TVs, refrigerator and freezer, microwave while the engine is running.

Use either the Lp gas (or) electric pilot light option for water heating - NEVER both. Make sure these switches are turned OFF before driving away or operating the vehicle for travel.

The difference between 30A and 50A hookups depends on how many AC units you need to operate. A 30A hookup with only provide enough power for a single AC unit.
Most large parking lots and especially Walmarts will permit boondocking (operating the rig on generator) overnight. If someone asks you to leave, please, just pack up and go.

You can not lower the jacks or extend the slide-outs as long as the vehicle is running. Switch off the ignition and switch the power control on the doorway panel from "STORE" to "USE". Engage the parking brake and continue setup.

America has an abundance of beautiful, clean, inexpensive, attractive state parks. These are largely overlooked. Check them out. They are perfect for RVing.
