ABOUT THE EVENT

What is Downtown Chili Cookoff

Downtown Chili Cookoff

What better way to get into all of the fall feelings than with a chili cook off, football, and a fall festival! Dig into the Downtown Dublin Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, October 19th from 11 AM to 5 pm to indulge in all the savory tastings local teams conjure up.

Chili Cook-Off

What do you call legumes that warm your heart and are the coolest around? “Chilly” Beans! Chow down on a cup of heart warming chili from Dublin GA’s favorite community teams while you cheer on your favorite football team at Morris Bank in Downtown Dublin GA. After the chili tasting is done, vote your favorite for the People’s Choice Award!

Don’t worry about missing the game! Sip some brews and snack on some popcorn while watching the game (football game TBA closer to Cook Off) on the largest retractable movie screen in Georgia at Theatre Dublin.

Want even more fall-tastic fun? Forget the autumn-mobile! Just steps from the steaming pots of chili, experience a FREE fall festival including art vendors in Founders Park, live DJ and food vendors on Jackson Street, a kids’ zone at Bicentennial Plaza and the Carnegie lawn, and Art Dublin and a pumpkin patch in front of Theatre Dublin.

Morris Bank and Founders Park

While not yet a historic structure, Morris Bank made a major investment in the future of Downtown Dublin GA when it constructed its new headquarters on the site of an old parking lot. The building features impressive Craftsman style architecture based on Dublin GA’s original train depot, which burned in the 1990s. Morris Bank dedicated a portion of its property as Founder’s Park, a relaxing green space in the center of town, open to the public.
