If you are like me, you have tons of old costume jewelry laying around. Some pieces are broken and others are just dated but I can't throw them away.
Why not use them for some artwork that you can display in your home?
I accumulated a whole suitcase of old jewelry when I closed my antique and consignment store.
I also have a great little collection of vintage frames. So let's put them together and create that artwork!
While everything else was on hand in my garage, I did make a trip to Hobby Lobby to purchase some velvet for the background. Nothing screams classy like a velvet background.
I disassembled the frames and gave them all a good cleaning. I set the glass aside as I would not be using the glass for this project.
As is often the case with secondhand frames, some of the frames did not have backs. So I used old gift boxes to cut a replacement back. You can even use cereal boxes. Be careful to select a sturdy cardboard that will support the weight of your project. Read more...
