Sometimes I visualise an idea, fall in love with it, but it can then take months or even years before I make the idea a reality! For a couple of years I have been thinking about transforming a drawer into a shelf, I am so glad I have. The project is quick and easy to execute.
Start by unscrewing the drawer from its drawer runners and removing from old furniture, I used an old bedside table.
Cut a shelf to fit across the middle of your drawer, measuring for accuracy.
Prepare the surface for chalk paint. Sand with a fine grain sandpaper, then wipe down to remove any dust. Paint the sides and the shelf you have just made with chalk paint. Allow to dry, add a second layer if needed.
Roughly cut to size the wallpaper for lining the back. Place inside and finger fold and press. Cut along the fold so you have a good fit. Read more...
