Georgia snow, ice, freezing temperatures: GDOT treats roads before winter weather hits


GDOT crews are working around the clock, using all available equipment and materials to treat 6,000 miles of interstate lanes, overpasses, bridges, and state routes.
GDOT's plan is to apply the brine early, while temperatures are still above 20 degrees. Crews are also prepared to use salt, rock, and calcium chloride as needed.
