The 2021 BMW M5 Competition has a very nice-sized trunk and reasonable rear-seat accommodations. That’s detailed at the top here largely because few of the other reviewers are going to mention it, besotted as they are with the M5’s performance.
But underneath all the high-speed gear is a 5-Series BMW, and that’s a family-friendly sedan. The M5 Competition driver doesn’t have to sacrifice much of that utility, with the possible exception of a stiffer-than-normal ride that transmits the news from every pothole.
