Consider this a pondering, not an observation. Will the last vestiges of resistance to electric vehicles — as automaker after automaker declare their intent to rid their fleets of internal combustion vehicles over the next 10 or so years — come from aging baby boomers? After all, we can be pretty set in our ways (and yes, I am a member of this post-war generation), though not all of us are totally hidebound in our reliance on gasoline to power our personal means of transport.
Still, for those of any age who are not comfortable being early adopters or are just plain technology adverse — this conjures a memory of my mother in her 80s attempting to figure out the Internet, while my father would have nothing to do with it — is the plain ol’ hybrid electric powertrain (which is to say no plugging in is required).
